LANDMARK CHESS COMPETITION RETURNS TO THE CITY OF MANCHESTER STADIUM

Sport 4 Life and the Eagle Chess Club were delighted to  announce the return (2010) of the New East Manchester Rapid Play Chess Tournament to the City of Manchester Stadium.

Following the success of the inaugural event and the equally sucessful event last year (2009), the third annual tournament, orchestrated in association with the Manchester Chess Federation, took place on Sunday 21st March 2010 with play commencing at 10:00am.

The rules remained constant and are the same as previous year’s competition, with the venue once again being hosted by a Premier League football stadium. Players are required to complete all their moves within a 30 minute time-frame, which is certain to ensure a frenetic end to proceedings!

The tournament accommodated players of all standards and earlybird discount entries start at £15 for Adults and £10 for juniors. As has been the case in previous years there are great cash prizes to be won which are spread over several catagories so everybody has a chance of winning, anyone interested in entering should contact Sport 4 Life for an application form:
